It has
been taught in schools, colleges and high school levels that Columbus
discovered America and called them Red-Indian. Till now he is shown as a hero and discussed his heroic deeds in many books of history. Basically he started a journey in search of
gold as it is thought that India is rich of gold and spiced. Marco polo and
other expeditions have already been to Indian and brought many precious things
from there. Columbus headed toward India and after few days he landed an
uncharted island due to his miscalculation and he thought he has reached India but actually it was Bahamas.
He reported his financier (Spanish ruler whom he promised to bring enough gold)
that he has landed in India and China. Columbus and other Spaniard massacred
millions of the people but it is invisible in history. The European argues that it has been done for the good of civilization. Their culture, social and other activities and deeds are disturbed and pulled them to the corner. A great historian Edward Zinn mentioned in
his book “A people’s history of United State” that many historian neglected
many fact about the Columbus discovery the genocide of Indian and exploitation of their culture. All the historian presented the history
of Native American in the perspective of ruler and conqueror. still are you agree with that Columbus had discovered Indians? Though Indian had been there for almost 28000 years.
